Folks, as you are reading this, I will be away for a few days. Will not be able to update the posts.
On Monday 21 August 2017, President Donald Trump delivered a much awaited new policy direction on Afghanistan and South Asia. True to his word, he delivered the new policy after giving his people six months to come up with a new direction on South Asia.
Do listen to the speech. Note the style of Donald Trump. After seven months in office, this is the more serious, more studied and more 'President' than 'CEO' Trump.

I think the person who is most happiest in the world with Trump's speech is this guy : Ajit Kumar Doval who I believe had some input into Trump's new policy on Afghanistan.
Ajit Kumar Doval is India's Super Spy Chief aka James Bond. He is the National Security Advisor to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is more powerful than the Indian Minister of Defense and possibly the Indian Foreign Minister.
(However I believe Ajit Kumar has been outwitted by the Chinese in their present dispute over the Bhutan border.)
N'theless Trump's speech clearly and most correctly identifies Pakistan as providing funding and safe havens for terrorists like the Taliban and the Haqqani network.
Trump just stopped short of identifying Pakistan as a state supporter of terrorism.
India and particularly Ajit Kumar Dhoval have been waging a relentless campaign to get world powers like the US to say exactly that ie that Pakistan is providing funding and safe havens for terrorists.
The bonus point for India in Trump's speech was Trump's complaining that India should take up more of the burden in sorting out Afghanistan.
This is also a major insult to Pakistan because not only has Pakistan been correctly identified as a trouble causer in Afghanistan but their "imaginary enemy" India has now been promoted to 'sheriff' to keep the peace in Afghanistan.
Trump's speech is therefore a major victory for India.
My view is that this is also the beginning of the acceleration to break up Pakistan.
The first region of Pakistan that will break away will likely be Balochistan, where not only is there a very strong and militant breakaway movement but where the elected governor and state authorities are also anti Pakistan.
Making matters "worse" is the presence of the CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) which runs right through Balochistan.
Both the US and India are completely against the huge Chinese investments in the CPEC in Pakistan. Especially for the US which has been providing billions of IS Dollars in aid to Pakistan only to see the Pakistanis spending the money to support terrorists and cozying up to China.
Therefore troubles in Balochistan will mean troubles for China as well.
Hence trouble for China in South Asia will make both India and the US happy.
Since the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" both India and the US will eventually become strong allies. This is a certainty.
Pakistan as a nation is now on borrowed time.
That is what I read from trump's new policy for Afghanistan and South Asia.
