Bersatu man 'posed as Wan Saiful to rent cars, forged treasurer's signature'

Investigations are being carried out into allegations of wrongdoings involving a person from Perlis Bersatu, according to state police chief Noor Mushar.
He said this was based on a police report filed by former Perlis Bersatu secretary and National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) chairperson Wan Saiful Wan Jan.
Malaysiakini learned that Wan Saiful, in his Dec 15 report filed in Kangar, had accused the man of using his identity as the PTPTN chairperson to rent two cars.
The same person was also accused of falsifying documents and forging the signature of the state Bersatu secretary-general for a payment of more than RM188,000 to a company.
"The complainant reported that he had clarified with the treasurer-general who said that he never produced such a letter and that his signature has been forged," Noor Mushar told Malaysiakini.
Earlier today, Wan Saiful made several allegations against Perlis Bersatu in a Facebook posting.
His revelation came after Perlis Bersatu announced that it is dropping the former academic as its state secretary.
Wan Saiful said he was asked to retract his police report but refused to do so.
“I am not sure of the motive to have the report retracted. However, I was adamant and did not do so.
“I was also adamant not to get involved in arranging the giving of government contracts worth tens of millions of ringgit to a firm linked to the children of a Bersatu leader in Perlis.
“I was offered a large sum of money if I helped arrange the contracts. But I refused,” he added.
Prior to that, Perlis Bersatu chairperson Amier Hassan said Wan Saiful was droppedbecause the latter was preoccupied with handling issues related to PTPTN.
