Budaya Suka Mengaibkan Orang Lain

This poster about baby dumping by the Ministry of Women Family Community Development has also stirred some controversy.

Hannah Yeoh has [correctly] called for this insensitive poster to be amended.

Hannay Yeoh is also the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.  The Deputy Minister is disagreeing with her own Minister / Ministry.  How lah?

The English is also bad. 'Not financially capable of take care of child' ??

Granted unwanted pregnancies create so many problems.

Can we please take a more enlightened approach?

A piece of paper or a lack thereof makes a child legitimate or illegitimate.

Lets rephrase that  "A piece of paper or a lack thereof makes a human being legitimate or illegitimate".

A human being is a human being, piece of paper or otherwise.

Lets develop more compassion.

The 'embarrasment' [which is a condition of your psyche] is bad enough.

But  why criminalise it? This is why there are so many cases of baby dumping.

Teach the young birth control, contraception, family planning, avoiding pregnancy etc. There is simple TWO RINGGIT science that can easily handle these things.

No one is encouraging anyone to be promiscuous or careless. But young people make mistakes.  Didnt you make mistakes when you were young?

If you want to blame anyone then blame it on the religious teachers.

Here is a suggestion - everytime there is a baby dumping case cut the salaries of all the ostad people.  They have obviously FAILED their KPIs.

Religion is so pervasive yet these baby dumping cases are only increasing. Religion has failed.

Here is another suggestion.

What are the numbers in other advanced societies. Thats what we are trying to be isnt it? To become a negara maju. How do they handle "unwanted pregnancies" ?

This incessant lunacy of wanting to shame and embarrass people [mengaibkan orang] has to stop. The religious folks sit at the top of that pile.

The numbers are not that many that we cannot handle it better. About 100 cases a year [according to this informed article by a Dr John Teo].  In a population of 32 million people.

Why cant we be just a kinder society?
