ISIS claimed responsibility Sun for bombs in southern Philippines killed 20
ISIS news agency Amaq took responsibility for blasts
first bomb went off near Jolo cathedral during Sunday Mass
second blast outside the compound
Jolo long been troubled by Abu Sayyaf militants
My comments : Just a few days ago I posted that the ISIS has been defeated in Syria. So the 40,000 or more ISIS fighters will be finding their way home around the world. Or ISIS may be trying to keep itself relevant.
I believe this is why those two bombs were set off in the southern Philippines.
What should be disturbing is this sentence : ISIS news agency Amaq took responsibility for blasts
The bombing took place in the Philippines. But the ISIS 'news agency' Amaq made the announcement (from the Middle East?) right after the bombs went off.
So now there is international coordination of their activities.
And the ISIS itself took responsibility. They did not mention any affiliates like the Abu Sayyaf, madrassah in Perlis, university in Shah Alam etc.
ISIS is making a statement that they are global. They still exist. They are coming to a bombing near you soon.
And they can coordinate their attacks.
There must have been some pre-planning and exchange of target information between the Philippines and Amaq before the bombs went off. There is Command, Control and Coordination.
