Iran Israel War

Hi folks. My updates have slowed over the past few days.  I have been busy with a few things including catching up with some books,  doing plenty yard work again  and also working on another writing project. Plus I have a few events lined up that I have to attend. If only we had four hands and an extra 6 hours in a day.

Anyway here is a quickie. Something unprecedented happened across the Syrian - Israeli border on Sunday 20th Jan and Monday 21st Jan.  On Sunday, Iranian troops entrenched inside Syria fired a medium range ballistic missile into Israel. The missile was shot down near the Golan Heights. On Monday the Israelis carried out massive missile and bomb attacks against Syrian and Iranian targets inside Syria.  This is a major escalation. Here is some news.

My comments :  The Syrian Civil War is almost over. ISIS has been defeated in Syria. The victory goes to  the Kurdish peoples' army, the Lebanese Shia Hezbollah [proxy of Iran] and the Syrian Army. Both the Iranians and the Syrians are not great fans of the Kurdish people who are Sunnis. 

The Syrian civil war is practically over but the Iranians do not want to go home. There are valid reasons for this - without their presence Syria is still at great risk. The ISIS can come back. So the Iranians are staying put.

However they are building a permanent presence - complete with military and air bases in Syria.  And they are bringing in missiles and missile technology that is being passed on to the Hezbollah - the Shia faction in Lebanon. 

My view is the Iranians are planning a pincer movement against Israel - using Hezbollah from Lebanon and the Iranians themselves from Syria.

This is an evolving Shia - Jewish war.  Something new.

In this confrontation I believe Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan will help out Israel. 
Just wait and see. Even Sunni Turkey might come in against Shia Iran.

One theory says that with the US pullout from Syria, Sunni Turkey and Shia Iran will arise as the new antagonists in the Middle East.
