KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Umno liaison committee chairman Hajiji Noor said he was not surprised by Tempasuk assemblyman Musbah Jamli’s move to join Warisan.
He said Musbah’s action is more for his own personal interest.
“Musbah’s decision to join Warisan is against what had been mutually agreed by all former Umno elected representatives when we jointly declared our withdrawal from Umno.
“Musbah’s action clearly shows that he is an unprincipled and indecisive man,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Musbah, who is the former Kota Belud Umno division deputy chief, was among nine Sabah Umno state assemblymen who jointly left Umno early last month. They had declared themselves as independents.
Hajiji, who is Sulaman assemblyman, said although it was Musbah’s democratic right to do what he did, it still displeased the rakyat.
“I am confident that the rakyat will reject and punish such leaders in the next state election.”
He was also confident that Musbah will regret the move because it also went against the aspirations of the rakyat who had supported and voted for him.
Apart from that, Hajiji is also confident of re-capturing those seats won by former Barisan Nasional elected representatives who have since joined Warisan and other parties. -FMT
