Najib: Why nab Lokman for sedition, but not Ramkarpal?

The Pakatan Harapan government is going trigger happy with the Sedition Act against opposition members, but being selectively ignorant when it comes to one of their own, alleged former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
In a statement posted on his Facebook, Najib cited the hauling upof Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam yesterday for alleging that the government was trying to protect those behind the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, as an example.
“Why was no similar action taken against Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh for questioning the alleged lack of action by the government, in reopening the files into the death of Teoh Beng Hock?” he asked.
"During the BN administration, in 2014, the police had also called up DAP leader Lim Kit Siang under the Sedition Act for questioning the court judgment on Teoh's death.
"But Lim was not arrested then, and not charged. Now, Lim no longer questions Teoh's death," Najib wrote.
"When I was the prime minister, a lot of Harapan leaders used to issue statements, accusing me, and the BN government, of having links with the deaths of Altantuya Shaariibuu, Teoh, Kevin Morais, and Hussain Najadi. However, they were neither arrested for sedition, nor held overnight in lock-ups," he added.
The Pekan MP further urged the Harapan government to not repeatedly use the Sedition Act to punish opposition leaders and supporters.
"Lokman has already fallen victim. Before this, in October last year, his brother was arrested and remanded for four days.
"Teoh is a Malaysian who died under tragic circumstances, and so is Adib.
"The rakyat deserve to demand the truth behind both their deaths without having to spend a night in lock-up,” Najib said.
Lokman has since been released on police bail.  - Mkini
