KUALA LUMPUR – A high-speed pursuit led to the police shooting out the tyres of a fleeing car.
The chase on Monday (Jan 28) afternoon started along Jalan Kuching when a police team noticed a black car being driven in a suspicious manner.
Ignoring calls to stop, the car sped off, heading towards the Bukit Kiara area.
“While in the Bukit Kiara tunnel, the suspect tried to crush the police car with his four-wheel drive.
He said that the police were forced to fire at the suspect’s car tyres to stop him.
“The car crashed into a road divider and stopped. The suspect attempted to escape on foot, but the police successfully apprehended him,” he said.
Checks on the suspect, in his 30s, showed that he was carrying drugs believed to be Eramin 5.
“We also found that the man has a criminal record for various offences,” he said.
The suspect, who was slightly injured in the face, has been brought to the Sentul police headquarters for further action.
