Putrajaya MP Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor is still BN secretary-general, said acting coalition chairperson Mohamad Hasan.
He said Padang Rengas MP Nazri Abdul Aziz's appointment to the post was never formalised, while Tengku Adnan had never resigned or been removed from his post.
"We have agreed for Tengku Adnan to remain as secretary-general until a time when he resigns or is removed," Mohamad said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
He said this after chairing the first BN meeting since the May 9, 2018 general election.
Nazri had been appointed as secretary-general last year by then BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
However, MCA and MIC have argued that his appointment was invalid, as it did not fulfil the criterion set by the coalition’s constitution, whereby the chairperson should have informed the supreme council of the appointment.
