BN CHOOSES CORRUPTION – ‘CHARGED FOR TAKING MILLIONS IN BRIBES’ KU NAN EMBRACED BY MCA, MIC & UMNO AS ‘NEW’ BN SEC-GEN: BUT WHY NOT HISHAM – OR KHAIRY?

KUALA LUMPUR— Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor is officially Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general again, with the coalition’s acting chairman saying his tenure is considered unbroken.
Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said this was because Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz’s announced selection for the role had breached BN’s requirements for this to be agreed universally by all components.
“Tengku Adnan is still the secretary-general because he has never resigned.
“He has agreed to stay on as the secretary-general until a date is reached when he resigns or is terminated,” the acting Umno president told a press conference after the BN supreme council meeting, here, today.

“Not to say it is invalid, but it was not formalised by the party. In BN, it has to be brought to the meeting, proposed and approved by the party,” said Mohamad, when asked about the validity of Nazri’s position.
On Tuesday, Nazri’s position in the party was questioned when both MCA and MIC had claimed that his appointment was unilaterally announced by then BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the opening of MIC’s annual general meeting in October 2018.
The two component parties said Nazri’s appointment was never discussed, nor received official acknowledgement in the BN supreme council.
Nazri was also told to not attend the scheduled meeting held earlier, as he was deemed “unqualified”.
The spat between the two component parties and Nazri came after MCA and MIC lamented that the Padang Rengas MP had repeatedly uttered racial remarks perceived to be from Umno, and the Malay nationalist party’s continued silence had cracked the foundation of mutual respect in the coalition. – MALAY MAIL

Nazri has no problem not being BN sec-gen

SENIOR Umno leader Nazri Aziz says he has no issue with the announcement that his appointment as Barisan Nasional secretary-general is invalid.
The Padang Rengas MP said he was comfortable with acting BN chairman Mohamad Hasan confirming that Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor is still the coalition’s secretary-general.
“It’s all right. What is the point of arguing about this. Let it be.
“I was appointed by (BN chairman) Zahid (Hamidi), who is not around. It’s okay by me. I want to see BN grow and progress. I hold no grudges. No hard feelings,” Nazri told The Malaysian Insight today.
Zahid had announced Nazri’s appointment as BN secretary-general at the MIC general assembly last year.
MCA and MIC have recently argued that his appointment is not valid, as it was neither discussed nor endorsed by the BN supreme council.
The two BN component parties had recently accused Nazri of racism over a speech he made during the campaigning for the Semenyih by-election.
Mohamad earlier today confirmed this, and said Tengku Adnan is still BN secretary-general.
“Tengku Adnan remains the secretary-general. He never quit and was never removed.
“Nazri’s appointment was not wrong, but it was never endorsed by the supreme council,” Mohamad told a press conference after a meeting of the council.
Nazri said he did not want to be drawn into how his appointment came to an end after the threats from MCA and MIC.
“I have always been a winner. I have won each time I contested a general election. I have won each time I contested in the Umno party elections.
“When you are a winner, you don’t have time to be angry. I don’t hold grudges. I think it’s time to move on and focus on other things,” he said.
Nazri said he would have preferred prominent Umno figure and Sembrong MP Hishammuddin Hussein to be appointed BN secretary-general, instead of Tengku Adnan.
“I  am disappointed. I thought it was going to be Hishammuddin.  In Umno now, Hisham is not holding any position. He is mild mannered. An affable person and experienced, and he will be acceptable to both the MCA and MIC as their current leaders (Dr Wee Ka Siong and S.A. Vigneswaran) were youth leaders when Hishammuddin helmed Umno Youth,” he added.  – MALAY MAIL
