PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang may be called up over the RM1.4 million allegedly paid to Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki said the investigation is ongoing.
“Suffice to say, the probe is ongoing… MACC never announced that the case has been closed.
“There will be more individuals called up to assist in the investigation… On whether the PAS president will be summoned, we don’t deny that there is a possibility,” he told reporters in Kuala Terengganu today.
It was reported that a cheque for RM1.4 million was made out as part of an out-of-court settlement of a defamation suit filed by Hadi against the whistle-blower site and Rewcastle-Brown.
