Invoke’s staff members freed after being detained for ganja probe

Three Invoke staff were detained on Sunday by police over alleged possession of 75g of ganja.
KUALA LUMPUR: Three individuals, linked to Rafizi Ramli’s research outfit, Invoke Malaysia, were freed today by police after being remanded for investigations into drug possession.
The three individuals were detained on Sunday by police over alleged possession of 75g of ganja and had been remanded for the past six days.
It is understood that the magistrate, sitting at the Jinjang police detention centre here, refused to extend the detention order.
The magistrate said there was no valid reason for police to further detain them.
Meanwhile, the investigation papers into the three individuals have been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) for consideration.
It was not known whether they will face charges under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA), the provision under which they were investigated.
The individuals, who consist of Invoke’s marketing executive, graphic designer and a former employee, were arrested at an apartment in Taman Mutiara, Jinjang.
Rafizi, who is also PKR vice-president, distanced himself from his employees’ action and said he would let the police investigate the matter.
Invoke is a non-profit organisation founded by Rafizi in 2016. It manages political campaigns and employs call centre staff, statisticians, software developers and campaign strategists. - FMT
