Nazri to skip BN supreme council meet

BN secretary-general Nazri Abdul Aziz will not attend the coalition’s supreme council meeting on Friday.

This is after coalition partners MCA and MIC threatened not to attend the meeting if he was present.
“If I am being barred by them (MCA and MIC) from attending, then it's best I absent myself to allow it to proceed," he told reporters at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

On Monday, MCA president Wee Ka Siong and MIC president SA Vigneswaran issued a joint statement that they do not consider Nazri’s appointment as BN secretary-general to be legal as it was not agreed to by the supreme council.
"Nazri's appointment as the BN secretary-general was never discussed, nor given official consent in the BN supreme council, although it was stated by BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi while officiating the MIC annual general meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre on Oct 27, 2018," they pointed out.
Nazri said he had no intention of resigning from the post, saying he would only step down if a unanimous decision was reached that he should do so.
