KUALA LUMPUR: PAS says it has yet to decide on forming so-called “unity governments” with Umno in four states, following a report quoting Umno acting president Mohamad Hasan as saying that discussions were underway to form coalition governments in four states.
PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad, who is co-chairing a working committee on Umno-PAS cooperation, could not confirm the matter when contacted.
“This coalition government matter is a big issue and PAS can’t make a statement.
“We have to discuss first before deciding,” he told FMT.
Umno vice-president Khaled Nordin, when contacted, refused to comment on this matter.
Utusan Malaysia today quoted Mohamad as saying that unity governments made up of the two Malay-Muslim parties were being planned for Terengganu, Pahang, Kelantan and Perlis.
The paper said the matter was also discussed by Umno and PAS leaders recently. - FMT
