Well actually this is a commentary on the latest Sarawak Report article about that Statutory Declaration by Azilah Hadri. But you know how I write - many drones with one missile. Or many missiles with one drone. Here is Sarawak Report, with my comments in between. Yusuf Rawther crops up somewhere inside here.
Folks - about Azilah Hadri, Sirul Azhar and the Altantuya murder - keep this single most important point in mind - in his Statutory Declaration Azilah Hadri says the policeman Musa Safri and Najib FIRST spoke to him about the 'secret ops' to kill Altantuya at Najib's house in Pekan on 17th October 2006 (I believe it was at night).
About 48 hours later, after 10 pm of 19th October 2006 both Azilah and Sirul had shot dead and blown up Altantuya.
The entire history of Azilah's involvement in this murder is over this very short 48 hour time frame. Other than Azilah's SD, nothing has come to light in the two court cases (Baginda and Azilah, Sirul) to indicate otherwise - Azilah and Sirul had never spoken to Altantuya prior to these 48 hours. Keep that in mind.
Najib’s two bodyguards originally released by Appeals Court
appalling mishandling of their original trial (hooded to keep anonymity)
Appeals Court noted zero attempt to identify motive
person with glaring big motive was Najib
Najib and Baginda publicly berated daily in the street by Altantuya
complaining they had made her pregnant
claimed to have evidence of their stealing hundreds of millions
submarine contract (subsequently proven to be true).
(OSTB : In his Statutory Declaration Azilah says that Musa Safri and Najib first spoke to him about a secret ops on 17th October 2006 at Najib's house in Pekan. About 48 hours later on 19th Oct 2006 (sometime after 10 pm) Azilah and Sirul had killed Altantuya.
Azilah and Sirul certainly could not have developed any motive at all within a space of just 48 hours to kill a woman whose name they could not even pronounce. Azilah kept referring to her as Chinese woman or perempuan China. The two UTK had no personal motives to kill Altantuya. They were policemen who were obeying orders.
The real motive to kill Altantuya had obviously required a longer time frame to develop. Getting her pregnant and then having her killed to avoid the embarrassment would certainly have been one motive. Altantuya's threats to reveal the corruption behind the Scorpene deal was certainly another great motive. It could have ended Najib's career (and Baginda's ATM).
Najib and Baginda could easily call immigration to have her deported
This is what Azilah originally advised Najib to do
Altantuya and her friends made clear they were not going quietly
They blurted the whole story to PI Bala
hired by Baginda to deal with the tiresome women
Altantuya told Bala she was pregnant with Najib’s child
massive theft of public funds through Scorpene deal
instead of Baginda calling police Najib called own bodyguards
bodyguards sent to Baginda’s house to ‘get rid of’ Altantuya
police found body
traced Sirul’s phone calls from the scene
(OSTB : Who did Sirul call? Musa Safri? Why wasn't Musa Safri called to testify in either trial? If there is a re-trial Musa Safri must be called to testify. Or if it is true that Sirul / Azilah called Musa Safri then it is clear that Musa Safri also becomes a suspect.)
police spoke to Bala and cab driver
police broke down Baginda into tears
got good picture of what happened
(OSTB : The entire team of the D9 investigative team, including 'ASP' Tony should be called as witnesses in the re-trial of Azilah and Sirul. Did they or did they NOT interview DSP Musa Safri? Did they not ask Azilah when was the first time he met DSP Musa Safri? First time Azilah met Najib?)
a trial was put into play in which half the relevant witnesses not called
prosecution and defence were singing same tune
Najib not even called as a witness, let alone a suspect
Baginda was acquitted

Baginda was acquitted
two convicted, motiveless bodyguards did not even know their victim

If trial granted, new evidence, new suspect ie Najib
(OSTB : Ok this is where the comparison with Yusuf Rawther comes up. Yusuf Rawther says he is ready to take a lie detector test. I think that is fair.
But the story goes that the other monkey is now totally frightened to take the lie detector test. Why are you afraid ? If you are innocent just take the lie detector test.
Just say 'konichiwa' ("Hi" in Japanese). The lie detector will pick it up.
If you are lying then it will become a case of 'kone-kechewa' (which means konek kecewa in Malay).
So I believe Yusuf Rawther has some credibility because he is ready to take the lie detector test. The other monkey is afraid of taking the lie detector test.
But lets look at the cases again.
- Musa Safri was not called as a witness in any of the trials. Why?
- PI Bala was not called as a witness. Why?
- Najib was never called. Why?
- There is Azilah's girlfriend (who was also Rosmah's bodyguard).
- There were all those police officers; lawyers and judges who were removed and replaced in the course of the earlier cases.
- Sarawak Report says several staff, acquiantances of Rosmah / Najib who observed a row over what to do with Altantuya
(OSTB : All these points 1 - 6 above are from Sarawak Report ok, I am just rearranging their points).
two bodyguards will have new defence
ie they were ordered to shoot spy Altantuya
who was danger to their country
who was danger to their country
Baginda would be arraigned as accomplice
whole raft of new witnesses called for proper grilling
Altantuya case not the only murder with similar botched investigation and trials
Altantuya first skeleton to tumble out of crowded closet
whole raft of new witnesses called for proper grilling
OSTB : So justice would be better served if there was a re-trial of Azilah Hadri. Sirul Azhar best remain in Australia. Kalau Azilah terlepas, hang pun terlepas free. Kalau Azilah tersangkut, hang boleh hidup lagi di Australia. So staying put in Australia is a better option for Sirul Azhar.
