To the surprise of most Malaysian Indians of Hindu faith, Minister Waytha Moorthy, who had been given the task to look into the welfare and well-being of the Indians, had urged the MPs and Indians of Hindu faith to move forward after Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin's jibe about 'Chin Peng's ash' on MP Rayer's forehead on Wednesday 4 December 2019.
Most Hindu Indians had expressed that MP Tajuddin from UMNO should be meted a severe punishment for his three or four times statement made in Parliament linking 'Chin Peng's ash' to the 'Hindu holy ash'.
Religious matters are not to be joked about at any time by anyone. Every citizen must learn to respect everyones' religious beliefs.
MP Tajuddin is a very senior Member of Parliament and knows what would happen if he were to make insulting remarks about any religious beliefs.
A number of police reports were lodged by the Indian Hindus who were concerned about the 'attack' on their religious belief demanding severe action to be taken against MP Tajuddin for his unwarranted religious insult remarks.
Suddenly yesterday, Waytha Moorthy made a surprise "u-turn" from his earlier stand after many Hindu Indians had expressed their dissatisfaction on the Waytha Moorthy's stand since it clearly insults their Hindu faith.
A Motion was also tabled at Parliament, to refer MP Tajuddin to the Rights and Privileges Committee on his religious insulting statement made. This Motion was subsequently passed.
