The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is conducting two surveys via calls starting today – the Hand Phne Users Survey 2019 and e-Commerce Consumer Survey 2019.
The regulatory body says the survey will run from today until May 31 next year, with the goal to collect “data and information about handphone users and e-commerce consumers in Malaysia”.
MCMC claimed that the survey is for data collection purposes only, and no sales will be solicited or money collected.
“Participation is on a voluntary basis; however, cooperation from the respondents are much appreciated, ” it said in a statement.

The statement also lists the numbers that will be used to make the calls. Although this may sound helpful but scammers tend to use VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocal) to make calls which allows them to display any number.
Calls will be made from MCMC’s Cati (computer-assisted telephone interviewing) centre in Cyberjaya, and will be conducted daily from 9am to 6pm, except on national and Selangor public holidays. - Star
