Muhammed Yusoff Rawther giving statement to Unit Siasatan Jenayah Terkelas at Bukit Aman
Over the last week or so, the name Muhammed Yusoff Rawther has been on the lips of many.
The former research assistant made the news after hurling allegations of sexual misconduct against PKR president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Little was known about this 26-year-old man before these allegations surfaced.
Each time he made the news, he was making allegations against someone, the last being against Anwar’s political secretary, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
Earlier this year, his name surfaced when he alleged that Farhash had assaulted him.
In fact, Yusoff had filed two separate suits naming Farhash, 37, and Anwar’s press secretary, Tunku Nashrul Tunku Abaidah, 30.
In his statement of claim against Farhash, Yusoff said he was attacked by the former at Anwar’s office in Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya, at about 10am on May 16.
Yusoff alleged that Farhash scolded him for being rough towards Anwar’s secretary Shukri Saad, which he denied.
He said Farhash then allegedly pushed him against the wall, choked and threatened to kill him.
Yusoff claimed he managed to escape but Farhash then allegedly lurched towards him and punched him repeatedly.
In his statement of claim against Tunku Nashrul, Yusoff said the latter sent a statement via WhatsApp to print and electronic reporters on June 10, which was later, published in the news.
Yusoff said there was malice when defendant sent out the libellous statement, claiming the incident did not take place and that the plaintiff, Yusoff, was a “volunteer researcher who had disciplinary and drug problems”.
Ironically, till today, Yusoff had never gone for a urine test to negate allegations that he had a drug problem.
In fact, even his educational background is questionable.
Yusoff who hails from Penang said he was taking a break from studying finance and accounting at Kozminski University in Warsaw.
He should come out and clarify if he ever returned to complete his studies or is a mere university dropout out to create trouble.
Why are all his attacks centred on Anwar and those close to him? (Anwar).
After all, he (Yusoff) has been estranged from his family for over a year and has no known, credible source of income.
This is the same person who wrote the controversial article entitled, “One Malaysian standing with Israel” which was published on Dec 25, 2017.
He claimed Malaysia had largely contributed to the smearing of Israel’s image on the international stage and Malaysia’s political arena makes regimental excoriations against Israel, an electorally expedient enterprise, and does so through several avenues.
This includes allowing for a media bias against Israel through erroneous headlines that constantly downplay Israeli victims and always portray Israel to be the aggressor and also through the use grammatically ambiguous language when reporting on the Israel – Palestine conflict.
The article created ripples among the Muslim community in Malaysia and Yusoff could be deemed lucky to have gotten away with making such claims.
Are we then to trust a mercenary for hire like Yusoff who is tainted with drug related allegations, a uni drop-out and someone who has the audacity to pen such an article?
Why is this person out to discredit reputable, respectable leaders like Anwar and Farhash?
Is there some other more sinister, evil plan in the works here?
