Umno MPs pledge to form gov't the clean and proper way

UMNO AGM | All the party's annual general assembly today, all 38 Umno lawmakers pledged that they will only form the government via the "front door", meaning in a manner that is above board.
This happened when Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi suddenly asked them to stand up after he revealed that all the party's members of Parliament had arrived at a consensus to move en bloc.
"Do not listen to the story on the social media and the instigators who said there was an attempt for the (Umno) MPs to negotiate with someone (to form the government) via the 'backdoor'," he said.
"I have met all the MPs and they have given me the assurance that they will continue to stay as Umno and BN lawmakers," he said.

He said the consensus was arrived at by all lawmakers including Pekan MP Najib Abdul Razak and Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah at a hotel in Kampung Baru in Kuala Lumpur.
"We decided that we will act en bloc. Fullstop," said Zahid.
"If any of the MPs are here today on the stage or in the hall, I want to see all of them stand up and (read) out the oath of unity," he said.
Sembrong MP Hishammuddin Hussein was among the lawmakers who put up their hands.
Zahid then said read: "God willing, we pledge that we will be united and only form the government via the 'front door'."
In his winding-up speech, Zahid also said Muafakat Nasional will hold its first national congress before May 2020.
He said Muafakat Nasional would be formalised then adding the state-level Muafakat Nasional congresses had been conducted.
Zahid also congratulated all 191 Umno divisions for conducting a ceramah perdana together with PAS at all constituencies.
Zahid also pledged that he will sail the ship of Umno together with the ship's officers and crew members and they will not fight with each other.
Meanwhile, Zahid also said the party has given Sabah Umno the autonomy to choose its candidate for Kimanis parliamentary seat by-election.
He said he has instructed the entire party supreme council to campaign for the BN candidate at the upcoming by-election.  - Mkini
