Sacked PKR leadership council member Zakaria Hamid has filed an appeal over his dismissal from the party.
"I still hope that the decision to sack me will be reconsidered and retracted after I have been given a chance to defend myself.
"I hope the appeals board will call me to give a statement, unlike the disciplinary board which sidelined the basic process of hearing out the accused," Zakaria said in a statement today.
Zakaria and another PKR member, Ismail Dulhadi, were sacked from the party last month.
PKR's central leadership committee used a MACC letter detailing a probe into alleged vote-buying activities by Zakaria during the party elections last year, as justification for his sacking
The MACC said the letter had been sent by mistake.
According to PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution, the letter reportedly stated that Zakaria had offered a RM20,000 Works Ministry contract to Bera PKR leaders.
Zakaria had also allegedly urged Bera PKR leaders to apply for contracts under a RM300,000 allocation from the Housing and Local Government Ministry.
Zakaria in his statement today expressed disappointment with Saifuddin for revealing the details of the MACC letter to the press before he could file an appeal.
The sacked PKR leader had previously denied any misconduct, saying that he had only given Bera PKR members information about projects which they could apply for. - Mkini
