64 state gov’t-owned nurseries, 87 private childcare centres in T’ganu resume operations

Malaysiakini

A total of 64 out of 67 Taska Permata Keluarga in Terengganu resumed operations today by practising the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Health Ministry.
Terengganu Welfare, Women and Family Development and National Unity Committee chairperson Hanafiah Mat said a total of 718 children were sent to the childcare centres this morning.
"Three more nurseries are still not operating because of minor technical issues such as electricity and minor building damage. God willing, they will resume operations soon.
"Based on my observation this morning, I’m very satisfied because they are following the SOP set by the Health Ministry and the cleaning and disinfection works recommended by the state Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM)," he told reporters after visiting Taska Permata Keluarga in Jalan Sultan Omar.
Taska Permata Keluarga is owned by the state government and supervised by the Terengganu Family Development Foundation (YPKT).
Priority is given to state civil servants to send their children while they are working.
Meanwhile, Hanafiah said 87 of the 135 private childcare centres also resumed their operations today.
"Only Taska Kemas and Taska Perpaduan are not yet operational,” he said.
