Amanah communications director Khalid Samad today lambasted Anwar Ibrahim's political aide Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak over the latter's claim that they are not loyal to the PKR president.
This comes after Farhash attacked Amanah and DAP over wanting Dr Mahathir Mohamad to be their prime minister candidate again.
Khalid said that Farhash as a young leader should stop behaving like a coward and pretend that Mahathir is the bigger enemy to Harapan compared to the Perikatan Nasional ruling coalition.
"Stop behaving like a coward afraid to handle a challenge.
"If you are unable to handle a weakened Tun (Mahathir), how can you handle the nation which is far more challenging than a 95-year-old man left out in the cold by his own party and ally (Azmin Ali)?
"Stop giving the impression that Mahathir is the bigger enemy while PN with Muhyiddin Yassin and Azmin are okay," he said in a text message to Malaysiakini.
Khalid, who is Shah Alam MP, was responding to Farhash's statement to the media last night where he questioned the loyalty of Amanah and DAP to Anwar.
Farhash released the statement after DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke (photo) told Malaysiakini in an interview yesterday that they want PKR to give a decisive answer about working together with Mahathir to regain federal power.
Khalid stressed that they are loyal to Anwar, who is Harapan chairperson, and this was the reason they wanted the PKR president to continue the fight.
"The whole country is being taken for a ride by PN. We should take over the reins with Mahathir's help and take charge. Don't we have at least 91 MPs?
"We are loyal to Anwar and that is why we want him to carry on the good fight and not listen to the naysayers who only preach fear and loss of confidence.
"As a young man he (Farhash) should show courage and confidence," he said. - Mkini
