Meeters and greeters now allowed at airport terminals

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad says travel restrictions following the Covid-19 pandemic have severely affected the global aviation industry.
KUALA LUMPUR: Meeters and greeters are now allowed to enter terminal buildings at airports in the country in line with the gradual easing of restrictions in air travel.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said social distancing measures will also be relaxed at the boarding gates to facilitate boarding in a timely manner.
Previously, during the movement control order, only passengers with valid travel documents had been allowed into terminal buildings.
In a statement, MAHB said the exemptions followed a thorough scrutiny of all Covid-19 related safety measures implemented at the airports.
“The current safety measures are deemed as satisfactory not only in preventing the spread of the disease but also in safeguarding the wellbeing of all airport guests and community,” it said.
It said the efforts to enhance safety were being undertaken in collaboration with government agencies operating at the airports, airline partners, ground handlers as well as retailers.
MAHB said most businesses have also resumed operations to provide airport guests with a convenient travelling experience.
“While we remain committed to ensuring the effectiveness of our safety measures, we would like to remind all our guests to act in a responsible manner as we work towards making Malaysia safe from the spread of Covid-19,” it said. - FMT
