Selangor PKR Women's wing appointed Sangetha Jayakumar as their acting head following the departure of Dr Daroyah Alwi from the party.
In a statement today, Sangetha said this was part of the wing's restructuring and was supported by 19 out of 22 divisions.
Daroyah left the party on June 13. She was also the national PKR Women's wing deputy head.
The Selangor PKR Women's wing deputy head position, which was held by Sangetha previously, will be filled by Ermeemariani Saadon.
"It is hoped that the restructuring of our committee will motivate Selangor PKR Women's wing to continue the reformasi agenda, strengthen the party and the administration of the state," said Sangheta.
Typically, the selection of the head of the state chapter of the women's wing would be performed by the national PKR Women's wing head.
However, the current national PKR Women's wing head Haniza Talha has been suspended.
Both Haniza and Daroyah campaigned as a team during the party's internal elections in 2018.
Their campaign platform was also tied to Azmin Ali, who also left the party in February after an unhappy year as the party's deputy president. - Mkini
