PUTRAJAYA: Four enforcement officers of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) have been remanded for allegedly collecting bribes from illegal business premises operating in Sungai Buloh.
Also remanded was a trader from Aceh for allegedly bribing the officers with RM300 a month.
The remand order, which expires on Tuesday, was issued by magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim here today.
The MBSA officers – three from the Sungai Buloh branch and one from Shah Alam – were arrested at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters after giving their statements.
Their arrest followed a video clip posted on the Hot Burger Malaysia Facebook page which was shared by Mohd Asri Hamid, 42, also known as Asri Janggut, who claimed that no action was taken by authorities against gambling activities in Sungai Buloh. - FMT
