COVID-19 | The whole of Sarawak is a green zone again after no positive Covid-19 cases were reported in all the districts for the past 14 days.
The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said in a statement today that the state’s status changed to green when the Kuching and Serian districts, which were yellow zones, became green zones after 14 days of not recording any positive cases.
As such, the SDMC has decided that the business operating hours for Zone One, involving Kuching, Samarahan and Serian, would return to normal effective this Saturday (Aug 15).
“SDMC has scrutinised the issue, which involved holding talks as well as getting views on health and economy from the Ministry of Health and tourism industry (before making the decision),” the statement added.
However, the committee reminded the public not to be complacent but to continue to be cautious in facing the pandemic.
