Ex-PKR MPs will work to increase PPBM’s seats in Parliament, says Zuraida

Former PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin hopes Azmin Ali will be given a position in PPBM.
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR MPs who switched to PPBM will work towards ensuring the party has the most number of seats in Parliament, said former vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin.
Speaking at the Kongres Negara 2020 today, the housing and local government minister said it was not wrong for politicians to “change directions” by switching parties if they thought their former parties had become irrelevant to them.
Zuraida, who is the Ampang MP, also hoped that her comrade and Senior Minister for Economy Azmin Ali would be given a place and position in PPBM.
Azmin led nine MPs out of PKR earlier this year to support PPBM as well as play a part in the formation of the Perikatan Nasional government. His application to join the party was officially approved today.
Zuraida said the addition of former PKR members in PPBM would be an advantage to the party during the 15th general election, and she hoped that more would follow in their footsteps.
“In 2018, we won (the general election) to rule the country (with Pakatan Harapan), but now our rules must change towards supporting the government’s policies.
“We are leaving behind those who do not wish to move forward, those who are still wondering who should be the prime minister.
“Together with the Chinese, Indians, Malays, Ibans and Kadazans, this is a chance for PPBM to increase its parliamentary seats in the upcoming elections.”
The Kongres Negara 2020 brought together NGOs linked to the former PKR leaders. including Pemuda Negara, Penggerak Komuniti Negara, and Nation of Women. - FMT
