The alert for a Covid-19 case in Subang Jaya through the MySejahtera app was triggered after a migrant worker who got tested was later found positive and put under quarantine at a hotel in the city.
In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that in the Subang Jaya case, the worker's employer had put them up at a hotel as a precaution and this was then registered in the MySejahtera app.
After the worker's Covid-19 test results came back positive on Aug 10, the case's registered address was moved to their residence in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Cheras, before they were admitted to the Sungai Buloh hospital.
This, too, was registered in the MySejahtera app.
Meanwhile, eight new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the country, including five from the Tawar cluster in Kedah.
On the cases today, Noor Hisham said there were three imported cases while all five local cases involved Malaysians from the Tawar cluster.
Four patients, meanwhile, have recovered with active cases now standing at 183.
Eight patients are currently under intensive care, with four requiring ventilators.
No new deaths were reported. - Mkini
