Two Toyota vehicles belonging to Terengganu state executive councillor Satiful Bahari Mamat were damaged after being splashed with red paint in an incident early Sunday.
It is understood that the Toyota Estima and Toyota Vellfire were parked within the Paka assemblyperson's compound at Kampung Pinang Merah, Dungun, Terengganu.
When contacted, Dungun district police chief Supt Baharudin Abdullah confirmed the incident.
He said a member of Satiful's family had gone out to take something from one of the cars at around 1 am and noticed the paint splashed on the vehicles.
"The motive for the incident is still being investigated," Baharudin said, adding there were no CCTV recordings of the surrounding area.
Aside from the two vehicles, Baharudin revealed that a car belonging to a family member of a former PAS Dungun secretary was also splashed with paint on Sunday.
"Paint was also found splattered on the walls of the person's house.
"Both cases are being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and thereby causing loss or damage," said Baharudin. - Mkini
