PETALING JAYA: All immigration offices in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Sabah will be closed to the public due to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) following the spike in Covid-19 cases.

Immigration director-general Khairul Dzaimee Daud said the closure is from Oct 13 to 26 for Sabah and Oct 14 to 27 for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

“As such, business can only be done online,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the public were not allowed to enter any immigration office during this period except those with emergency matters that have been referred earlier.

Yesterday, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the implementation of the CMCO for Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya and Sabah.

Among the key restrictions under the CMCO are that movements between districts are not allowed. Those who work outside their district will need to show their work tag or a letter from their employer to leave the district.

Only two people from each household is allowed to go out together to buy necessities.

All educational institutes, including schools, kindergartens, tahfiz schools, colleges and universities, public parks and recreational areas will be closed. - FMT
