KUALA LUMPUR: Elections should be postponed until the Covid-19 situation stabilises, says Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
He said lessons should be learnt from the rise in positive cases in Sabah following the state election there.
“Standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the Sabah election were not followed diligently, and many workers who returned to the Peninsula brought the virus with them.
"This factor cannot be denied.
“The National Disaster Malaysia Agency and National Security Council must assess the situation.
"Politicians should not put the safety and lives of the people at risk for their political agenda, ” he said after the handover of duties ceremony between outgoing Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan to the 13th Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Mahadi Che Ngah at Kuala Lumpur City Hall headquarters. - Star
