COVID-19 | Cabinet ministers Azmin Ali and Saifuddin Abdullah today said that they had been tested negative of Covid-19.
Senior Minister (Economic Affairs) Azmin Ali announced his test results via social media this evening as a response to speculations that he had contracted the novel coronavirus.
"There have been many speculations on the status of my health. Thank you to the many who are concerned and prayed for me and my family's wellbeing and safety.
"I have taken two Covid-19 tests. Alhamdulillah, both returned negative results. I will continue my self-quarantine process until I take a third Covid-19 test at the Putrajaya District Health Office," he posted on his Facebook account.
The Bersatu supreme council member said he would be continuing his ministerial duties from home while undergoing quarantine.
Rumours had started circulating since yesterday (Tuesday) that Azmin had purportedly tested positive for Covid-19.
His aide Dr Afif Bahardin refuted the rumour yesterday.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported that Saifuddin (photo), who is communications and multimedia minister, had Tweeted about his health status.
"Alhamdulillah, I'm thankful that the swab test on Oct 6, 2020, is negative," he said.
Saifuddin said that he had taken two swab tests in two weeks, the first one on Sept 25 upon his return from Sabah, which also came back negative. - Mkini
