CMCO: School closures to affect 1.4 million students

KUALA LUMPUR: All educational institutions including schools, kindergartens, vocational colleges and teacher training institutes will be closed in Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya in tandem with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in the states and areas.

The Education Ministry, in a statement tonight, said educational institutions in Sabah will close from Oct 13 to 26, and close from Oct 14 to 27 in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

"This is following and announcement by the Defence Minister today (Oct 12) on the implementation of the CMCO for the whole of Sabah starting Oct 13, and the whole of Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya starting Oct 14."

The move, said the Education Ministry, is expected to affect approximately 1.4 million students.
