Covid-19: KL and Sepang are now red zones

 

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur and Sepang are now categorised as red zone areas in the Klang Valley, as the number of Covid-19 positive cases breached 40.

Sepang and Kuala Lumpur recorded 22 and 23 new cases as of noon today.

Other districts in the red are Klang (with 17 new Covid-19 cases), Petaling (29), Kuala Langat (13), Hulu Langat (31) and Gombak (12).

Meanwhile, Putrajaya, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor are in the yellow zones with Sabak Bernam remaining in the green zone.

In Sabah, Kinabatangan that was previously under the yellow zone is now in the red after recording 10 new cases today.

Other districts in the red zone are Sandakan, Ranau, Semporna, Kunak, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Keningau, Papar, Penampang, Beufort, Putatan, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, Kota Belud, Kudat.

Meanwhile, Pitas, Beluran, Kota Marudu, Tambunan, Telupid, Nabawan, Tenom, Sipitang, and Kuala Penyu are in the yellow zones.

The Health Ministry logged 847 new cases today. Of that, 578 cases (or 68.2 per cent) were recorded in Sabah and 164 (or 19.4 per cent) in Klang Valley.

Sabah and the Klang Valley have been placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order to contain the virus and break the chain of transmission. -NST
