SEREMBAN: The Nando's outlet at the Palm Mall here will be closed temporarily after a part-time employee tested positive for Covid-19.
The restaurant chain, in a Facebook post, said the outlet will be closed for disinfection and cleaning works until further notice from the Health Ministry.
"At Nando’s, the health and wellbeing of our people and the community is our top priority.
"A part-time crew member, who is a student at a local university, had been asked to self-quarantine upon hearing of the cases there, was today found to be positive," it said on Friday (Oct 9).
The company said the part-timer has not been to the restaurant since clocking out on Oct 5, and has since been taken to Hospital Rembau for quarantine and treatment.
"Upon receiving the notice from the ministry, we immediately closed the restaurant for thorough cleaning and sanitising, whilst all crew members on shift have been asked to quarantine and sent for Covid-19 testing, in accordance with ministry guidelines," it said.
It said other staff at the outlet, who came into contact with the part-timer, have been given 14-day paid stay-at-home orders while awaiting their test results. - Star
