Former rural and regional development minister Abdul Aziz Shamsuddin, 82, has passed away.
Abdul Aziz, who was a minister from 2004 to 2008, had also served as political secretary to former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He passed away at 11.52pm last night at Ara Damansara Medical Centre in Selangor, according to Utusan Malaysia.
He is expected to be laid to rest at the Gunung Mesah Muslim Cemetery in Gopeng, Perak.
Before that, prayers will be held in Bukit Damansara.
However, the family, in a statement, said only 20 people will be allowed due to the standard operating procedure of the conditional movement control order (MCO) to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Abdul Aziz was also formerly an Umno supreme council member. - Mkini
