ALOR GAJAH: Police have rescued a nine-year-old child abuse victim after raiding the home of the alleged perpetrator at Masjid Tanah here.
Alor Gajah OCPD Superintendent Arshad Abu said his men ambushed the home at Taman Seruling Jaya, Masjid Tanah here following a tip-off at 6pm on Friday (Oct 2).
"We also arrested a 34-year-old man who claimed to be the adopted father of the boy," he said.
Supt Arshad said police confiscated a rubber hose which was believed to be used to hit the victim causing injuries on his back.
He said the victim was living with the man for the past two years while his biological mother is working in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. His dad was untraceable.
"From the information received, the victim was often abused by the unemployed suspect," Supt Arshad said.
He said the victim had also stopped schooling and often lived in fear due to the violent act of the suspect.
He added that the victim will be referred to state Welfare Department while the man had been remanded. - Star
