COVID-19 | Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Mohd Noor's special private secretary-designate has died of Covid-19.
The 60-year-old Noorzain Tawi died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday.
He was laid to rest at Kampung Serusup Muslim cemetery in Tuaran today, according to New Straits Times.
Noorzain was supposed to be sworn in as Hajiji's special private secretary.
However, the new Sabah government was hit by Covid-19 shortly after winning the state election on Sept 26.
Hajiji and his wife Julia Salag were also infected but have since recovered.
The third wave of the Covid-19 outbreaks which have spread nationwide were traced back to Sabah.
It started from undocumented migrants detained at the Tawau prison.
The virus managed to escape from the facility into the community.
Its spread was accelerated during campaigning for the Covid-19.
The involvement of campaigners from across the country later saw them bringing the virus to their home states after the campaign ended. - Mkini
