Several banks announce scheduled maintenance, service disruption throughout week

 

Several local banks are performing scheduled maintenance ahead of the 10.10 sales, and are urging customers to plan their banking ahead of time. — AFP Relaxnews

Several local banks have announced that they will be updating their online banking services over the course of this week, with some timing it right before the upcoming 10.10 sales.

On its website, CIMB said it would be performing maintenance works on its Clicks website today, starting from 2am this morning until 2pm this afternoon.

This would affect bill payment and top up using Debit Cards, viewing of Credit Card details and all Credit Card and Prepaid Card transactions on its banking site, according to the bank.

Public Bank has also issued a system maintenance notice for their banking site for individual and enterprise customers, as well as its PB engage app.

These services would be temporarily unavailable on Oct 8 from 12am to 4am, according to the announcement.

Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) tweeted that it would also be carrying out scheduled maintenance for various services on Friday Oct 9, from 11.30pm until 11.59pm.

The services that would be affected include Maybank2u, online payments plus bank transfers; its QR Pay, Wealth, and Maybank2u apps; and the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) call service, according to its announcement.

The bank added that some offline services would also be unavailable in that window, including Debit Card transactions, ATM, smart recycler machine (a combination of cash deposit and ATM) and cheque deposit machine.

“To minimise any inconvenience during this period, please perform your transactions in advance. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. For more information, please write to us at mgcc@maybank.com,” it said.

Bank Rakyat tweeted that it was also upgrading its core banking system on Oct 9 starting 4pm, and some services would be disrupted until 12pm on Oct 12.

It recommended customers plan their transactions ahead of time to avoid any inconvenience and to keep tabs on any changes via its social media accounts.

Meanwhile, HSBC said maintenance works will affect its customers’ Debit Card online transactions on Oct 10, from 1am to 7am. - Star
