Time for advanced network connectivity, says telecoms company

The increase in work-from-home arrangements and home-based learning during the Covid-19 period sees the need for good connectivity.

PETALING JAYA: A telecommunications infrastructure provider said today the Covid-19 pandemic has called for the provision of advanced connectivity services to be sped up in the country.

“The time is apt now for Malaysia to advance the need for a speedier and more robust adoption of 4G densification to improve quality of service and capacity demands.

“With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have witnessed the acceleration for this need at the workplace and at home,” Naza Communications’s chief operating officer Darryll Sinnappa said in a statement.

Sinnappa said to facilitate the increase in work-from-home arrangements and home-based learning during this period of high usage, good connectivity was needed.

Recently, the government had announced the National Digital Infrastructure Plan (Jendela) to prepare the nation for 5G technology.

“The government sees this impending need for reliable mobile networks with high speeds and low latency like 5G technology and moves forward to continue supporting residential and urban connectivity to meet the people’s digital needs in the future,” he said.

Naza Communications, a subsidiary of the Naza Group had been looking for the opportunity to collaborate to ensure mobile operators would be able to deliver quality connectivity to all Malaysians.

“We believe that with our new infrastructure and expertise in the field, we are in a good position to drive the acceleration needed to improve existing coverage and quality of experience gearing up for 5G technologies deployment.

“Naza Communications can play a part as a catalyst partner in catering to this surge in global demand for increased connectivity services and concurrently fulfil the national aspirations for a Digital Malaysia,” he said.

Presently, Naza Communications is in the planning stage with Naza TTDI, the property development arm of the Naza Group, for its KL Metropolis project to develop a state-of-the-art-in-building solution for Naza TTDI’s clients and the community. - FMT
