Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu has appointed Pengkalan Hulu assemblyperson Aznel Ibrahim as his new political secretary with immediate effect.
Ahmad Faizal, who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president, said Aznel was replacing his former political secretary Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid who will now manage affairs related to his post in Bersatu and other matters at the federal level.
He said the appointment of Aznel, who is also the Umno Gerik division deputy chief, is a manifestation of his commitment to cooperate with Umno in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government, to ensure that governance can be carried out more effectively.
“I am confident that Aznel's appointment will further strengthen the good relations and cooperation that are already established among the leadership of Bersatu, Umno and other allies in PN,” he said in a statement today.
