Investigation papers into a durian feast attended by Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Mohd Rashid Hasnon have been handed over to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC).
This is according to Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
“About the durian feast, investigation papers have been given to the AGC.
“So we are waiting for a decision from the AGC,” he said during a broadcasted press conference this afternoon.
Police previously questioned 15 people including Rashid over the feast, which was allegedly held on June 27 in his constituency of Batu Pahat.
When videos of the feast first surfaced on social media, the Bersatu politician initially denied breaching movement control order (MCO) rules and claimed the event had taken place before the first MCO.
His denial sparked further scrutiny into the event, and Rashid eventually admitted his mistake and apologised for it. - Mkini
