Heli lands at Padang Ipoh 'without clearance' to pick up food for KL customer

A helicopter caused a stir when it landed at Padang Ipoh in the capital of Perak to pick up 36 packets of the famous “nasi ganja” for a customer in Kuala Lumpur this morning.

However, Perak police chief Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said upon checking with the Civilian Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), the helicopter was only cleared for landing at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport.

“The helicopter landed at Padang Ipoh between 9.55am and 10.15am.

“It did not have permission to land at Padang Ipoh, We have relayed the information to CAAM Ipoh,” he was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.

A spokesperson for the restaurant, who declined to be named, confirmed receiving an order for 36 packets of rice with chicken, beef and salted egg for a customer in Kuala Lumpur.

The man told Utusan Malaysia that he doubted if the order was genuine when told that a helicopter would pick up the packets.

“I was doubtful because no customer has picked up an order using a helicopter.

“I was shocked when the order turned out to be true and a helicopter arrived to pick it up.

“It is the most luxurious way of collecting an order which I have encountered but the price was the same, which is RM10 per packet,” he added.

Utusan Malaysia also published a photograph showing workers loading the items into the red helicopter, bearing the words Systematic Aviation Services.

Systematic Aviation Services Sdn Bhd is based in Kuala Lumpur and provides helicopter as well as fixed-wing aircraft services.
