King okays Penang assembly sitting

 

Although the King has agreed to a sitting, the state has decided to hold it on Sept 1, a month after the emergency ends.

GEORGE TOWN: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has allowed an application by Penang to hold its state assembly session soon, following an application by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.

In a statement, chief minister Chow Kon Yeow thanked the governor for getting the approval, which was received on Tuesday.

However, he said his government has proposed to hold the session on Sept 1, pending advice from the health authorities and the National Security Council (MKN). - FMT
