Kula: DAP has no agreement with PN government

There is no cooperation whatsoever, including on a confidence and supply agreement (CSA), between the DAP and the PN government, said party vice-chairperson M Kulasegaran.

He said any attempt to drag DAP's name into this non-existent scenario was only aimed at diverting the public's attention from Umno's internal problems.

"There is false news spreading in the country. What they are saying is that DAP will support PN in the next parliamentary session.

"This is never happening," he said. - Mkini

Umno supreme council (SC) member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, in a leaked audio recording made available earlier this week, had said the PN government would not necessarily collapse if Umno withdrew its support.

He said the government could still get DAP support.

Umno last week withdrew support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin but allowed its MPs to make their own decisions during Dewan Rakyat votes including on votes of no-confidence.

The CSA refers to a mooted compromise under which the opposition does not reject the budget nor will it propose a no-confidence vote in the government that would trigger elections, an ill-advised exercise given the high number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

In return for such an understanding, the prime minister should then give the opposition a chance to propose policies.

An unimpressed Kulasegaran, who is also the Ipoh Barat MP, challenged Tajuddin to submit evidence on any DAP-PN cooperation allegation.

He said the three main leaders of Pakatan Harapan - Anwar Ibrahim (PKR), Lim Guan Eng (DAP) and Mohamed Sabu (Amanah) - had clearly stated that they were not cooperating with Muhyiddin.

"They also urged Muhyiddin to resign immediately.

"In a situation like this, where is the logic of DAP working with PN or supporting Muhyiddin?" he asked. - Mkini
