PETALING JAYA: The Negeri Sembilan state assembly will convene for four days, starting on Sept 3.
Menteri besar Aminuddin Harun told reporters this in an online press conference today, according to Utusan Malaysia.
He added the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir would officiate the state assembly and give a royal speech on the first day (Sept 3).
Subsequently, assemblymen can take part in the royal debate.
“Some bills will be tabled in this sitting,” Aminuddin said.
Selangor, Perak, Johor, Pahang and Perlis will hold their state assembly sittings next month, after the emergency ends, while the Melaka government said its assemblymen were due to meet this month.
Meanwhile, Penang will hold its state assembly sitting on Sept 1.
The Sabah government said it is ready to reconvene the sitting but had not fixed a date.
Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah, all PAS-held states, will only hold a sitting once Parliament reconvenes or if they receive instructions to do so.
As for Sarawak, its state legislative assembly is unlikely to reconvene as its five-year term ended on June 6. - FMT
