Parliament will reconvene before the Emergency expires on Aug 1, announced de facto law minister Takiyuddin Hassan today.
In a statement this afternoon, he said more details will be made available after next week’s cabinet meeting.
“The Prime Minister (Muhyiddin Yassin) as the head of Parliament has decided to call for a Parliament sitting as soon as possible, before August 1, 2021.
“This will be finalised during the July 7 cabinet meeting,” he said.
Takiyuddin added that Putrajaya honoured the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decree about parliamentary sittings.
Parliament has been suspended since January 11 when the emergency was proclaimed.
