The National Security Council (NSC) has decided to allow computer stores and stationery shops to resume operations tomorrow, said Deputy Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
This is to facilitate students who are continuing their lessons at home while schools and universities are shut due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“This permission is given after taking account of feedback from students, teachers, and educators, to ensure teachers and students can continue learning from home without disruption,” he said in his daily update on the National Recovery Plan today.
On another matter, Ismail said the NSC has also agreed to allow students to travel to and from areas under enhanced movement control order to take exams, including professional examinations.
This is on the condition that they have obtained police permission to do so.
However, the statement is silent on the enhanced movement control order (MCO) that is currently in force in large parts of Selangor, which is due to expire at the end of the day tomorrow.
The enhanced MCO for Selangor covers the 34 subdistricts in the state, including the entirety of the populous Petaling district.
It is in force for two weeks from July 3 until July 16. - Mkini
