PETALING JAYA: Food delivery riders have earned a reputation as a menace on the road, but one GrabFood rider proved that notion wrong when he took time out from his job to help a blind man cross a road.
The incident which took place at Masjid Lama Batu 6 in Gombak was captured by a netizen who goes by the handle @thedoctor654 on TikTok.
In the video, a blind man with a walking stick can be seen standing by the road. The GrabFood rider parked his bike and took the blind man’s hand to walk with him until he was safely on the other side of the road.
The post has garnered over 30,000 likes by TikTok users with many applauding the rider’s action and his kindness.
User @S@limi said: “GrabFood riders are actually heroes on the road, they will show up and help no matter what the situation they’re facing… May God protect him and always provide him with good fortune.”
Mohd Radzuan Abdul said this video made him tear up and praised the rider’s sincerity in helping the blind man.
Putra Z said any delivery food rider would help someone who was struggling on the road regardless of race, adding three thumbs up emojis.
