Reporting a violation of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) can be somewhat of a hassle, requiring a Good Samaritan to personally contact the authority and lodge an official complaint.
However, this may soon be a thing of the past for MySejahtera users.
The Health Ministry is introducing a new feature on the contact tracing application, which will enable MySejahtera users to lodge their complaints with authorities in several easy steps.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (above) tweeted about the feature earlier today, where he posted a short video to show how reporting is to be done. In the Malay language version of MySejahtera, there will be a new button "Aduan", which will bring users to another page where they can select the type of violation they wish to report.
It listed four options: SOP violation for individuals (not wearing a face mask or physical distancing); violation by a premises operator (failure to record visitors or check their body temperature); violation of quarantine order; and other issues.
Users will then be required to tag the location where the alleged violation happened, before going to the last step, where they can upload a photograph as evidence.

According to Khairy, he has ordered the application developer to further update MySejahtera but did not elaborate.
"I have asked MySj to update slightly but the feature is there," he said.
Khairy tweeted the tutorial video in response to a netizen's query, asking whether there is an online platform where the public can lodge reports against premises that fail to enforce Covid-19 SOP.
Meanwhile, Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah urged the public to make use of the new facility.
"If you witness anyone violating SOP, please lodge your complaint through MySejahtera," he said in a reply to Khairy's tweet. - Mkini
